Baby Shower

Today we had the wonderful opportunity to share in Ann's Baby Shower.  She is my soon-to-be cousin.  The owl/nature decorations were so adorable and the food was out of this world.  Her cousin is a chef!  He did an amazing job with all of the food.   I am so excited to be photographing her baby bump this coming week with her husband.

Sweet Treats and Sweet Photos

Where did the time go?
Last Saturday I had a BAKING PARTY with my sister, mom and grandmother.  We all are making cookies for my uncle's wedding, so I thought why not have a baking party?
We had such a great time!  We started with my grandmother's almond salad sticks.  They are delicious but still we haven't a clue why they are called Almond salad sticks since they look nothing like a salad.
Melvin was on pick up duty :)

Later I met one of my former students to take her Senior Photos.  She was so much fun!  Here are just a few photos from our shoot.

WHITE frog?

So many might find this strange but it my neighborhood, when there is something cool going on, I often get a call or a knock on the door to get my camera.  Yes, I'm the "crazy camera lady" of the neighborhood.  I wear the title proudly.  This is one of those instances.  My neighbor down the road rattled on my door asking me to "Come quick and oh!  Bring the camera!"
Throwing my apron to the side (I was making cookies). Off I run with flour all over me, from a minor flour explosion incident, some dressy but quick accessible shoes and my camera.  I have lived in Frizzleburg, PA all my life and I had never seen what he was about to show me.
Right there sitting on his white railing was a white frog.  He went on to tell me that the frog changes colors, much like a chameleon depending on where he is perched on at the moment.

Honestly I thought for a moment that the neighbor was playing a trick on me.  Perhaps he had just painted this railing and the frog had gotten into it.  But after my quick CSI investigation, I realized the railing was dry and the frogs color was too perfect to have been applied by this guy next door.  So immediately I started snapping away.  He mentioned that they don't touch him, he lives around their porch area and seems to be quite happy there.  While cookies were baking I looked up this interesting frog online.   According to this websiteGray Tree Frog (Hyla versicolor): This little guy (less than 2 inches) can change from grey to brown to green rather quickly to match his surroundings. Makes a trilling sound ... like a turkey.

Wow, who knew?  Be on the look out for one in your yard.

Amazing Transformation of a caterpillar to butterfly

My lovely mother is a 3rd grade elementary teacher.  Every year she goes on caterpillar hunts to find those special little ones that live near milk weed plants to take into her classroom. The kids as well as everyone around are always amazed at how the cycle of life for these little creatures goes from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis and then to butterfly.  Bryan and I adopted a couple to watch first hand.  It was so amazing! This was our first baby!

The Great Big- Little Turtle Rescue

I glanced out my front door and there on the sidewalk was this little snapping turtle.  Not sure how it ended up here.  I'm guessing from the pond up the street.  It was a long trek for this little guy.  Once Bry convinced me my finger was way bigger than his mouth I picked him up.  I had Bryan carry him to the pond for his release back to nature as I snapped some photos.

Buhl Day - New Studio

I had a great time at Buhl Park with Maddy and Ma Williams for Labor day.  I had the chance to photograph and meet some new people. It was nice to expand my network a bit.

While I was there my wonderful husband removed a bed from our spare room and started plans for my new in house studio. After a trip to Lowe's we have the beginnings of a new studio!  Yeah!
